Take
everything that we said
about the phenomenal Pirelli
Scorpion XC mid-soft front tire,
apply it to this Scorpion MX Extra rear tire (in spades), and you have
the essence of our review.
This tire rocks. The quality of this tire that we are prehaps the most surprised with is its ability to hook up after being thoroughly shagged. Sand, rocks, snow, mud gravel and pavement - it handles it all. You won't get the miles out of one of these that you'd get out of a harder compounded tire - but the handling, while there is a knob left, is stellar. We run our Scorpion MX Extra at 16.5 psi with a heavy duty tube and find this setup to be just fine for a variety of desert and mountain trail riding. |
