Martin, Once the snow melts we can make the trip to Jackpot, NV. I am still working with the BLM on the route from Kelton to Windover. The 45 miles across the salt flats might not work, It sounds like we have to stay on exidsting trails so it might be more like 60 miles in the salt. Also, North of the salt, we have to watch out across the mud flats....if it rains a day or two before the trip we'll most likely get stuck. If it works out it will be miles and miles of high speed fun broken up with sections of mountain ridge double track. So far it's 100 mile each way but I have to make it longer to comply with the BLM...

Kelton to Windover we will just have to go for it. We can plan for fuel to go the long way, W then S, but if we find trails going SW we can take them... Even bigger and better is Gerlatch to Denio Jct via the Black Rock Desert. The BLM is being a great help and I am waiting for their approval. I had to change the route because of a private ranch in the Paiute Meadow. I'm trying to route it to the E on FR and jeep trail and then coming back down past Soldier Meadows Ranch. Most people seem to stick to Soldier Meadows on the W side with bigger dual sports. For us, that would make a nice fast ride back but up...lets stay to the E.

Nez Perce pass is open and there is little snow anywhere around Painted Rocks lake. Heading out Saturday night.
