When you get snowed in up there is there a lot of snowmobile action going on?
Everyone is pulling their dirtbikes out this time of year down here cause it is starting to rain.

You betcha! This place is snowmobile heaven. I am not too much into snow machines myself (I hike and ski in the winter to stay in shape) but they sure do look fun. Expensive tho. Around here we ride out dirt bike out in the desert dunes even when there is snow. When the snow melts (which it generally does in the low deserts after a few days) and the sand firms up - woohoo!

Tell me your not freezing your nuts off right now. Its in the 50's down here so I know your heaters are coming on regular now. Went to Hollister yesterday and finally got some decent riding in with the recent rains, instead of that infernal choking dust from the summer. It gets drier than a popcorn fart here in the summer.

Heya - how's it going?
Actually the weather up here has been pretty good for the time of year. We've enjoyed a great long Indian Summer. It was in the 60's some last week and in the 50's today. We are headed out to ride in just a few minutes. It's coming though. This is the time of year when things can turn pretty fast then it's porting heads in the shop to amuse oneself until around March.
We are headed down to do the Mojave Trail Xmas day. That's always a fun break. Last year we froze our asses even down there the first day. In fact once I even got snowed on in a December race out at Willow Springs up near Lancaster. I got second in that race purely because I was about the only person on the track from an area that gets enough snow on the road to know that a few flakes do nothing to change the coefficients of friction. What the heck. I'll take 'em any way I can get 'em.
ciao

Yeah - we've been noticing! Nothing like freezing your tush in the Mojave!!! The long term forecasts are more promising. I think that we'll be right by the time we get there. The rain tends to firm up the sand and make it fast, fast, fast! Woohoo!
I hope that the holidays are treating you well. Only 7 months left until TID 2009 season.
Right now it is very cold up here - about 5 degrees for the daily high temp. I have taken to plowing the backyard motocross track just as a symbolic gesture.
cheers
