Nice review. That 200 watt jobbie sure lights up the landscape!

Good review. Thanks for writing it up.

I'm looking for an 8" light for my XR650R that has a H4 bulb/reflector. I started a thread on Thumper Talk if you are interested... http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=726564

Do you have any pictures of the front and back of the Ricky Stator unit that shows how the reflector mounts to the frame?

I'm looking at the differences in the Ricky Stator, Baja Designs and Trail Tech 8" mounting system for being able to swap reflectors depending on riding condition.

Here are some Trail Tech pics from Hodakaguy:

Here are some Baja Designs pics from their web site and haggeo, an advrider inmate:

We have no current experience with Baja Designs, but having used both the Trail Tech and the Ricky Stator side by side I'd say that the RS unit wins hands down. It's lighter, just as sturdy, well-sealed against water, and has no backwash of light (TT sells an optional steel plate to prevent this with their light). I will be happy to snap some more pics of both lights when we get the bikes back from the shop.
